Along with other organizing consultants, I celebrate the virtues of an organized life. I thank you, my clients, for the joy you give me when I see the "Ah-HA!" look in your eyes. My work involves showing you new ways to get and stay organized. But it's not "my way or the highway," and there's no one perfect system. Each of you is free to disregard the "shoulds" and replace them with whatever works best for you.
We all have different learning styles. With that in mind, the key to becoming organized is to get in touch with your personal style. When it comes to how you best work, organize, and function from day to day, it's a lot smarter to embrace your own style rather than imitate your co-workers, spouse or friends.
So this month my only advice is to stop "shoulding" all over yourself and begin giving yourself permission to tweak the organizing systems outlined in the many helpful organization and time management books currently available. Find your own personal system for getting and staying organized and work your system daily.
Have fun and be yourself!
All the best,
